HOW IS WELLFIT DIFFERENT THAN A BOOTCAMP, ADULT WEIGHT LOSS CAMP, "FAT CAMP" OR "FAT FARM"?

WellFit Zion is a holistic fitness resort where we help you to achieve your weight loss and wellness goals by addressing the whole you. We focus on your physical, nutritional, emotional, mental, and longterm wellness needs and goals. We understand that weight gain is never simply about eating too many calories, or not exercising enough. The stresses of our daily personal and professional lives affect each of us in many ways, which is why we teach sustainable habits, including daily movement, and conscious healthy eating, into your daily routine. At WellFit you’ll lose weight and learn how to keep it off for the rest of your life.

why is zion national park an important component to your program?

Zion National Park is a world-famous destination known for its breathtaking scenery, fascinating geology and unrivaled hikes, views, and scenery. We believe that nature heals, calms, and soothes the soul. There’s no better place to experience the best the natural world has to offer than Zion. With hikes for every fitness and comfort level, our weekly trip to Zion is both a highlight and hallmark of our program.

What is the food like?

Guests enjoy delicious cuisine meals daily, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, and snacks. Created by an experienced team of world-class executive chefs and registered dietitians, each delicious, calorie-controlled meal features top quality ingredients, in just the right nutritious balance of proteins, carbohydrates and healthy fats. The menu is tailored to provide the body and mind the nutrition it needs for physical and mental challenges throughout your stay at WellFit. All dishes are made to order to your specific preferences and dietary restrictions.

What is the age limit for guests?

We are able to accommodate teenagers in our program (ages 14-17) but they must be accompanied by a participating adult. Guests 18+ may join on their own.

How many calories will I be eating a day?

Daily intake will be an average of 1500-1700 calories, barring special circumstances in which a few people might need additional calories. We understand everyone’s body and metabolism is unique.

We mindfully determined this amount of calories to ensure we are providing the nutrients needed to offer the best results for the majority of our guests.

What is a typical day like?

Our goal is to help you reach yours. Every day is specifically designed to provide you with the activities, education, nourishment and individualized attention you need to stay motivated in your journey to a healthier life.

This is a typical weekday at WellFit Zion:

6:30 am      Stretch and Meditation
7:00 am      Breakfast
8:00 am      Hike
11:00 am    AquaFit or Stretch/Yoga
12:00 pm    Lunch
12:30 pm    Rest, shower, change
1:30 pm       Group Fitness Class – Strength Training
2:20 pm      Coldpress Juice and Snack
2:40 pm      Group Fitness Class – Cardio Training
3:30 pm      Rest, Shower, Change (optional group fitness class)
4:30 pm      Education Series
5:30 pm      Dinner
6:30 pm      Spa and Personal Coaching Services Available*

*Spa Services can be booked through the front desk.

Age Limit, Minimum Stay, onsite staff, dedicated rooms?

The WellFit program is designed for adults ages 18 and older. We can accommodate teens in our program (ages 14-17) but they must be accompanied by an adult to all activities.

Please note: Our resort does not offer childcare services.

Minimum stay at the resort is 7 nights.  Check-in is on Sunday and check-out is on Sunday to preserve camaraderie and ensure each guest experiences the full program.

Our full-time on-site staff is here to assist you.  Reservations, Front Desk, Trainers and our Chef/Kitchen staff are all full-time and ready to serve.

WellFit Zion is a standalone resort comprising a main building of almost 60,000 sq ft including dedicated lobby and front desk, 11 spa treatment rooms, exclusive demonstration/commercial kitchen and dining room plus 17 dedicated guest rooms.  We can also book nearby condos for you through our various partnerships. 

do you have a packing list?

We recommend the following:
 

    • Exercise attire: we suggest two outfits per day, including performance-wear and/or Dri-fit
    • Lightweight clothing that can be layered
    • Long-sleeved shirts, such as sweaters, fleece jackets
    • Rain jacket, windbreaker
    • T-shirts, tank tops
    • Pants, shorts
    • Gloves, beanie
    • Scarf or bandana
    • Swimsuit
    • Casual clothing
    • Pajamas, sleepwear
    • Underwear and Socks – wool or synthetic fiber (moisture-wicking) socks are best for hiking. We do not advise wearing cotton as it absorbs sweat which can lead to blistering (performance blister proof socks are available in our on-site store).
    • Comfortable walking shoes
    • Athletic shoes for fitness classes
    • Trail running shoes for hiking – you’ll want shoes with a good grip for various trail conditions, and we suggest breaking them in prior to arrival.
    • Pool shoes or sandals
    • Hydration backpack or waist pack (available in our on-site store) – we suggest at least a two liter water bladder, one liter for every hour of activity.
    • Sunglasses and hat or sun visor
    • Smartphone or camera, and chargers
    • Prescriptions and toiletriesSelf-service laundry and detergent is available onsite. Every guest has use of a laundry basket.You may also purchase a WellFit Ready Pack prior to your arrival. The Ready Pack includes a CamelBak, two pairs of performance blister-preventing socks, Body Glide & electrolyte tablets.
Do you have to be in shape to participate? What if I've never exercised before?

We accommodate all fitness levels, from novice to experienced. Our trainers will work with you if you require or desire modifications or additional challenges. We want everyone to feel safely challenged!

How long do people stay at the resort?

Our program runs in seven day cycles, from Sunday to Sunday, with our minimum stay being one week. The average stay is 2-4 weeks but guests are welcome to stay for as long as they’d like – many guests stay for weeks and even months at a time.

If I live nearby, do I still have to stay at the resort to participate?

We offer reduced rates for guests who live nearby. Please call our reservations agent at 1-888-WELLFIT to discuss the available in-town options.

Can I come alone and share a room with someone to take advantage of the shared rate?

Yes! We offer both private and shared casita accommodations. Please call our reservations agent at 1-888-WELLFIT to discuss our available options.

What spa services do you offer?

We offer a full complement of traditional and alternative services that nurture the body, mind, and soul. We highly recommend you take the time to relax, revitalize, and restore yourself while here. Please see The Lotus Retreat for more information.

Is there a smoking policy at your resort?

WellFit Zion is proud to offer smoke-free guest rooms and facilities. Smoking on the property or in guest rooms is strictly prohibited.

Do you offer laundry services?

Onsite self-service laundry is available for your convenience. Please inquire with the front desk for more details.

Do you serve coffee, soda, or alcohol at the resort?

We do not serve coffee, or other caffeinated beverages, carbonated beverages, or alcohol at the resort.

Is your program coeducational?

Yes, all genders attend our program. 

Do I have to begin the program on a certain day of the week?

Yes, our program begins and ends on Sunday. For stay-over guests, Sunday is a day of rest.

Can I bring a pet?

Yes, we have a small number of pet-friendly casitas where one pet is permitted to accompany you to the resort. The weekly fee is $75.00; please inquire about availability and regulations while making your reservation.
